An Evening's Love, or The Mock Astrologer is a funny play called a comedy. It was written by a famous English writer named John Dryden.
This play was first shown to King Charles II and Queen Catherine. It happened in London at the Theatre Royal on June 12, 1668. The King's Company, a group of actors, performed it.
The play was later printed in a book in 1671. John Dryden dedicated, or formally offered, his work to William Cavendish, Duke of Newcastle.

The play follows two young English gentlemen named Wildblood and Bellamy. They travel to Madrid with their funny servant, Maskall. In Spain, they meet two beautiful young Spanish ladies, Donna Theodosia and Donna Jacinta. The ladies also have a very smart servant named Beatrix.
The play is a comedy, so it's full of funny situations. Wildblood and Bellamy try to win the hearts of the Spanish ladies. This leads to many humorous mix-ups and adventures.
