Ana Bertha Lepe Jiménez was a famous Mexican actress. She was also a beauty queen! In 1953, she won the title of Señorita México, which means Miss Mexico. That same year, she placed third runner-up in the Miss Universe 1953 pageant. She was born on September 12, 1934, and passed away on October 24, 2013, at the age of 79.
Ana Bertha Lepe's Acting Career
Ana Bertha Lepe started her acting career in movies. Her first film was La justicia del lobo in 1952. This was just the beginning of many films she would star in.
In 1955, she traveled to Cuba to film Una gallega en La Habana. She also acted alongside Christiane Martel in the 1959 movie Señoritas. Christiane Martel was the Miss Universe from 1953, the same year Ana Bertha Lepe placed third.
One of her most famous roles was as Gamma in the 1960 movie La nave de los monstruos. This was a classic science fiction comedy. She starred with Eulalio González "Piporro" and Lorena Velázquez. After 1960, Ana Bertha Lepe took a break from acting for several years due to personal reasons.
She returned to acting in 1977. She appeared in her first telenovela, which is a type of TV soap opera, called Pacto de amor. She continued to act in many more telenovelas throughout her career.
