Ana Maria studied at São Paulo State University. She earned degrees in biology and zoology. Because of her father, she also has Italian citizenship.

Ana Maria Braga started her career in journalism. She worked on a news program called Rede Tupi de Notícias at Rede Tupi. Later, she worked for Editora Abril. There, she helped with fashion magazines like Cláudia.
