Ana María Oramas González-Moro, born on July 17, 1959, is a Spanish politician. She has held many important roles throughout her career. She was a member of the Parliament of the Canary Islands from 1991 to 1999, and again since 2023. She also served on the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council. From 1999 to 2008, she was the mayor of San Cristóbal de La Laguna. Additionally, she was a member of the Congress of Deputies, which is like a national parliament, from 2007 to 2023. She is a member of the Canarian Coalition political party.

Early Life and Education
Ana María Oramas González-Moro was born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain. This was on July 17, 1959. She was the oldest of ten children in her family. She went to the University of La Laguna. There, she studied and earned a degree in economics.
Political Career
Ana Oramas began her political journey in 1978. She first joined a group called the Union of the Democratic Centre. Later, in 1982, she became a member of the Canarian Coalition (CC).
Serving in Local Government
From 1979 to 1991, Ana Oramas was part of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council. This council helps manage the city. In 1999, she was chosen to be the mayor of San Cristóbal de La Laguna. As mayor, she was the main leader of the city. She resigned from her role as mayor and from the city council on November 12, 2008. However, she continued to serve in the national parliament.
Role in the National Parliament
Ana Oramas became a member of the Congress of Deputies in 2007. This is Spain's main law-making body. She took the place of another politician, Paulino Rivero. She was then re-elected in the 2008 election. During her time in the Congress of Deputies, she worked on several important committees. These included committees for Economy and Finance, Constitutional Affairs, and Culture. She decided not to run for re-election to the Congress of Deputies in 2023.
Return to the Canary Islands Parliament
From 1991 to 1999, Ana Oramas was a member of the Parliament of the Canary Islands. This is the regional government for the Canary Islands. She held various administrative jobs there. In 2023, she won a seat in the Canary Islands Parliament again. While serving in this parliament, she was the president of the Disability commission. This commission works on issues related to people with disabilities.
