About Ananta Jalil
Early Life and Business Start
Ananta Jalil was born on April 17, 1978, in Munshiganj, Bangladesh. When he was five years old, his mother passed away. He and his older brother were raised by their father. He studied at St. Joseph Higher Secondary School in Dhaka. Later, he earned a business degree from Manchester University in the UK.
In 1999, Ananta started his career as a production manager. He then opened a small clothing factory. This factory grew into a big company called AJI Group. In 2014, the Bangladesh government recognized him as a CIP (Commercially Important Person). This was for his great contributions to the Ready-Made Garment industry.
Journey into Films
Ananta Jalil began his film career in 2010. He acted in and produced his first movie, Khoj: The Search. This film also introduced Barsha and Bobby to the big screen. After Khoj: The Search, he appeared in Hridoy Bhanga Dheu in 2011.
In 2012, Ananta starred in two more films: The Speed and Most Welcome. Both movies were very popular and helped him connect with audiences in Bangladeshi cinema. In The Speed, he acted alongside actresses from Malaysia and Russia. His second film that year, Most Welcome, was released during the Eid festival.
In 2013, his only movie was Nishwartha Bhalobasa. This film was special because Ananta Jalil directed it himself for the first time. It was even shown at the 66th Cannes Film Festival. In 2014, he released Most Welcome 2, which was a sequel to his earlier hit. His film Din–The Day, directed by Iranian filmmaker Morteza Atashzamzam, was released on July 10, 2022.
Ananta Jalil is also a brand ambassador for Grameenphone. This is a big company that provides phone services in Bangladesh.
Family Life
Ananta Jalil married model and actress Afiea Nusrat Barsha on September 23, 2011. Barsha is also the managing director of Monsoon Films, Ananta's film company. They have two sons named Ariz Ibn Jalil and Abrar Ibn Jalil.
