Anastasia Nikolayevna Grishina (born January 16, 1996) is a former Russian artistic gymnast. She was part of the Russian team that won a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Anastasia also earned a bronze medal in the all-around competition at the 2013 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships.

Junior Gymnastics Career

2010: European Championships Success

In April 2010, Anastasia competed at the European Championships in Birmingham, UK. She finished second in the all-around competition. This means she was the second-best gymnast across all four events: vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise.

In the individual event finals, Anastasia won gold medals. She placed first on the uneven bars and also first on the floor exercise. After this, she took a break from competing for the rest of the year. She needed to rest a sore back.

2011: National Champion

In March 2011, Anastasia competed at the City of Jesolo Trophy in Italy. She finished fifth in the all-around competition.

The next month, in April, she competed at the Russian National Championships. This is a very important competition in Russia. Anastasia won the all-around competition, becoming the national champion.

In May, she won another all-around competition at the Zakharova Cup in Ukraine. Later that year, she was supposed to compete at the European Youth Olympic Festival. However, she got a hamstring injury and could not participate.

Senior Gymnastics Career

2012: Olympic Silver Medalist

In January 2012, Anastasia competed at the Olympic Test Event in London, UK. This event helps gymnasts prepare for the Olympics. She finished tenth in the all-around. In the individual event finals, she won first place on the uneven bars.

In March, Anastasia competed at the Russian National Championships again. She placed third in the all-around competition. She also won a gold medal on floor exercise and silver medals on vault and balance beam. She earned a bronze medal on uneven bars.

In May, Anastasia competed at the European Championships in Brussels, Belgium. Her scores helped the Russian team win a silver medal. She also won a silver medal on the uneven bars. Anastasia shared that the team wanted to improve for the upcoming Olympics. She aimed to make her routines more difficult and polished.

London Olympics: Team Silver

In July 2012, Anastasia competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. She performed well in the qualifying rounds. However, only two gymnasts from each country could advance to the all-around final. Because of this rule, she did not compete in the all-around final.

In the team final, Anastasia's scores on uneven bars and floor exercise helped the Russian team win a silver medal. This was a huge achievement for her and her team!

2013: European All-Around Bronze

In January 2013, Anastasia started training with new coaches, Viktor Razumovsky and Irina Razumovskaya.

In March, she competed at the Russian National Championships. She won a silver medal in the all-around competition. Her scores also helped the Moscow team win a silver medal. She won a gold medal on the uneven bars.

Later in March, Anastasia competed at the 37th Tournament of Masters in Germany. She won gold medals on both uneven bars and balance beam.

In April, Anastasia competed at the European Championships in Moscow, Russia. She won a bronze medal in the all-around final. She also won a bronze medal on the balance beam.

In June, she competed at the Anadia World Challenge Cup in Portugal. She won a gold medal on the uneven bars. Unfortunately, a back injury later that year prevented her from competing at the World Championships.

2014: Injury and Recovery

In April 2014, Anastasia competed at the Russian Championships. She won a bronze medal in the all-around competition. Her scores also helped the Moscow region team win a silver medal. During the competition, she got a knee injury on the floor exercise. This injury meant she had to stop competing in the event.

2015–2016: Retirement from Gymnastics

After her injury, Anastasia took a break from gymnastics. On January 19, 2016, just three days after her twentieth birthday, it was announced that Anastasia had retired. She officially stopped training as an artistic gymnast.
