Anastasia Nikolayevna Grishina (born 16 January 1996) is a former Russian artistic gymnast. She was a key member of the Russian team. Anastasia helped her team win a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics. She also earned a bronze medal in the all-around competition at the 2013 European Championships.

Anastasia Grishina's Junior Career

Anastasia Grishina started her gymnastics journey early. She quickly showed great talent. Her hard work led to success in junior competitions.

2010: European Junior Success

In April 2010, Anastasia competed at the European Championships. This event was held in Birmingham, United Kingdom. She finished second in the all-around competition. This means she was the second-best gymnast across all four events.

Anastasia also won two gold medals in event finals. She placed first on the uneven bars. She also took first place on the floor exercise. After this, she took a break to rest a sore back. She focused on her schoolwork during this time.

2011: National Champion

In March 2011, Anastasia competed in Italy. She placed fifth in the all-around at the City of Jesolo Trophy. A month later, she competed at the Russian National Championships. This competition was in Penza, Russia. Anastasia won the all-around title. This made her the top junior gymnast in Russia.

In May, she won another all-around title. This was at the Zakharova Cup in Ukraine. Unfortunately, a hamstring injury kept her from competing later that year. She missed the European Youth Olympic Festival.

Anastasia Grishina's Senior Career

Anastasia moved up to senior-level gymnastics in 2012. This meant she would compete against older, more experienced gymnasts.

2012: Olympic Silver Medalist

In January 2012, Anastasia competed at the Olympic Test Event. This event was held in London, United Kingdom. She finished tenth in the all-around. She also won first place on the uneven bars.

In March, she competed at the Russian National Championships. She placed third in the all-around. She also won a gold medal on floor exercise. She earned silver medals on vault and balance beam. She also got a bronze medal on uneven bars.

In May, Anastasia competed at the European Championships. This event was held in Brussels, Belgium. She helped the Russian team win a silver medal. She also won a silver medal on the uneven bars. She placed fifth on vault and fourth on balance beam. Anastasia was determined to improve for the upcoming Olympics.

London 2012 Olympics

In July 2012, Anastasia competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. She performed well in the qualification rounds. She placed twelfth in the all-around. However, only two gymnasts per country could advance. This rule meant she could not compete in the all-around final.

In the team final, Anastasia helped her team win a silver medal. She performed on the uneven bars and floor exercise. This was a huge achievement for her and the Russian team.

2013: European All-Around Bronze

In June, she won another gold medal on uneven bars. This was at the Anadia World Challenge Cup in Portugal. Unfortunately, a back injury kept her from competing at the World Championships later that year.

2014: Injury Setback

Anastasia competed at the Russian Championships in April 2014. She placed third in the all-around. She also helped her team win a silver medal. During the competition, she hurt her knee on the floor exercise. This injury meant she had to stop competing.

2015–2016: Retirement

On January 19, 2016, Anastasia Grishina officially retired from gymnastics. This announcement came shortly after her twentieth birthday. She had a successful career, winning many medals for Russia.
