Anatole is a fun animated TV show for kids. It's based on the popular Anatole books by Eve Titus. This series was made by three companies: Scottish Television, Valentine Productions s.a.r.l., and Nelvana. It first aired in Canada on YTV from 1990 to 1993. Later, it came to the United States on CBS starting October 3, 1998, and was shown during the 1998–99 TV season.

What's the Show About?
The story of Anatole follows a brave mouse named Anatole. He lives in the beautiful city of Paris, France. Anatole has a very important job: he works as a night watchman at a cheese factory! He makes sure everything is safe and sound. Anatole also has a loving family, including his wife, Doucette, and their six children.

How the Show Was Made
Bringing Anatole to TV
In January 1998, the TV network CBS announced exciting news. They said they would start showing cartoons again on Saturday mornings for the 1998–99 TV season. Anatole was one of the brand new animated shows they planned to air.
In July 1998, it was announced that Anatole would premiere on September 19, 1998. However, the start date was later changed to October 3, 1998. Charles E. Bastien directed every episode of the series.

Where Was it Shown?
TV Channels and Reruns
Anatole first aired in 1998 on The CBS Kids Show on CBS in the United States. Later in 1999, it was shown on Premiere 12 (which is now called Okto) in Singapore.
The show was also rebroadcast on the U.S. version of Disney Channel from 2001 to 2004. In 2009, it aired again on STV, a Scottish TV station, as part of their wknd@stv block. From 2015, it was shown on the "Weans' World" block on STV Glasgow and STV Edinburgh.
