Anatole Collinet Makosso was born in 1965 in Pointe-Noire, Republic of the Congo. He is an important political leader in his country. Since May 2021, he has been serving as the Prime Minister of the Republic of the Congo.
Before becoming Prime Minister, Mr. Makosso held several other key positions in the government. He was the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education from 2015 to 2021. He also served as the Minister of Youth and Civic Instruction from 2011 to 2016.

His Early Life and Education
Anatole Collinet Makosso started his career as a teacher. In the early 1990s, he began working in government. He was an adviser to local leaders in the Kouilou Region.
From 1998 to 2011, he worked closely with President Denis Sassou Nguesso as an adviser. During this time, he also served as the head of the office for the First Lady, Antoinette Sassou Nguesso. In 2010, he earned a special degree called a PhD in Law from a university in France.
Serving in Government
Mr. Makosso first joined the national government as a minister in August 2011. He became the Minister of Youth and Civic Instruction. This role involved looking after programs for young people and teaching them about their country.
In August 2015, his responsibilities grew. He was appointed Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Youth and Civic Instruction. This meant he was in charge of both schools and youth programs. In April 2016, he focused mainly on education, becoming the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education and Literacy.
Becoming a Member of Parliament
In July 2017, Anatole Collinet Makosso ran for election to become a member of parliament. He represented the Congolese Party of Labour (PCT), which is the main political party. He won his election in the first round of voting, getting a large number of votes. This meant he became a representative for the area of Loandjili in Pointe-Noire.
Appointed Prime Minister
On May 14, 2021, President Denis Sassou Nguesso chose Anatole Collinet Makosso to be the new Prime Minister. As Prime Minister, he leads the government and works to manage the country's affairs.
