Anders Bardal is a former ski jumper from Norway. He was born on August 24, 1982. He became famous for his amazing jumps and winning many important competitions.

Anders Bardal's Ski Jumping Journey

Anders Bardal started his career in ski jumping in the early 2000s. He competed in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. There, he finished 25th in the individual large hill event. He also helped the Norwegian team finish ninth in the team large hill.

First Big Wins

Bardal won his first individual Ski jumping World Cup event in Zakopane, Poland. This exciting win happened on January 27, 2008. It was a big moment in his career.

World Championship Success

Anders Bardal earned many medals at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. He won four silver medals in the team large hill event. These were in 2007, 2009, and two in 2011. In 2011, he won silver medals on both the normal and large hills.

At the 2008 Ski Flying World Championships, he won a bronze medal with his team. In 2010, his team won a silver medal at the same event.

Olympic Medals

Bardal also achieved success at the Winter Olympics. In 2010, he was part of the Norwegian team that won a bronze medal. This was in the team large hill event at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

He continued his Olympic success in 2014. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, he won another bronze medal. This time, it was in the individual normal hill event.

Winning the World Cup

A major highlight for Anders Bardal was winning the overall FIS Ski Jumping World Cup in 2012. He was the first Norwegian to win this title since Espen Bredesen in 1994. This showed he was the best ski jumper in the world that season.

A year later, in 2013, he won a gold medal. This was at the Ski Jumping World Championships in Val di Fiemme, Italy. He won on the normal hill, which was a fantastic achievement.

Retirement from Ski Jumping

Anders Bardal decided to retire from ski jumping at the end of the 2014-2015 season. He had a long and successful career. After retiring, he lived in Trondheim, Norway, with his family. He also studied at the Trondheim Business School.
