Andre Royo (born July 18, 1968) is an American actor, producer, and writer. He is famous for playing Reginald "Bubbles" Cousins in the HBO crime drama series The Wire. He also appeared in shows like Fringe, Party Down, and How to Make It in America. You might also know him as Thirsty Rawlings, the defense attorney, on the FOX drama series Empire.

Andre Royo was born in the Bronx, New York City, on July 18, 1968. His family background includes both African-American and Cuban heritage. He has shared that sometimes casting directors told him he wasn't "Black enough" or "Latino enough" for certain acting parts.
Royo went to Mount Saint Michael Academy in The Bronx from 1982 to 1986. He is married to Jane Choi, and they have a daughter named Stella.

His Role as Bubbles in The Wire
Royo is most famous for his main role in the HBO crime-drama series The Wire. He played Reginald "Bubbles" Cousins, a character who worked as a confidential informant for the police. He was a regular character from the very first season of the show.

In 2016, Royo won a Special Jury Award at the SXSW Film Festival for his role in the movie Hunter Gatherer. He appears with Octavia Spencer in the Apple TV+ series Truth Be Told, where he plays an attorney. In 2024, he was featured in Chris Stapleton's music video "Think I'm in Love with You".
