Andrea Pininfarina (born June 26, 1957 – died August 7, 2008) was an important Italian engineer and business leader. He was the CEO of Pininfarina, a famous Italian company that designs and builds car bodies. His grandfather, Battista "Pinin" Farina, started the company in 1930. Andrea was the son of Sergio Pininfarina. He was married to Cristina Maddalena Pellion di Persano and had three children: Benedetta, Sergio, and Luca.

Andrea's Early Life and Education
Andrea Pininfarina was born in Turin, Italy. He studied hard and graduated in 1981 from the Polytechnic of Turin. He earned a degree as a mechanical engineer. This means he learned how to design and build machines.
His Career at Pininfarina
After finishing college, Andrea worked for a company in the United States in 1982. In 1983, he joined his family's business, Pininfarina. His first big job there was managing the Cadillac Allanté car project.
Rising Through the Ranks
Andrea quickly moved up in the company.
- In 1987, he became a Co-General Manager.
- In 1988, he was promoted to General Manager.
- By 1994, he became the managing director.
- Finally, in 2001, he took on the top role as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pininfarina. As CEO, he was in charge of all the company's operations.

His Tragic Death
Andrea Pininfarina died on August 7, 2008. He was riding his Vespa scooter near the Pininfarina company headquarters. This was in Cambiano, a town outside Turin, Italy. Police reported that a car pulled out from a side street in front of him. It was a very foggy morning at the time of the accident.
