About Andreas Gabalier
Andreas Gabalier grew up in Graz, Austria. He is the second oldest of four children. His family name, Gabalier, has a cool history! It comes from a French soldier who came to Austria way back in 1796. This soldier was part of Napoleon Bonaparte's army and decided to stay in Austria.
Andreas has a brother named Willi Gabalier, who is a professional dancer. Andreas has written a special song called Amoi seg' ma uns wieder (which means "We will see each other again sometime"). This song is very meaningful to him and his family.
His Music Journey
After finishing high school, Andreas started studying law in Graz. But his real passion was music! He began writing and composing his own songs. He even recorded his first songs in a home studio.
In the summer of 2008, while still a law student, Andreas showed two of his songs to a local radio station in Austria. This was the start of his amazing music career. He quickly became known for his energetic "Volks-Rock'n'Roller" style. In 2013, he won an Amadeus Austrian Music Award, which is a big honor for musicians in Austria.
