Andreas Papagiannakopoulos (Greek: Ανδρέας Παπαγιαννακόπουλος) was an important Greek man who lived from 1845 to 1911. He was a judge and a politician. He worked in the areas of Kalavryta and Achaea in Greece.

Early Life and Work

Andreas was born in a place called Leivartzi. When he was young, he moved to the big city of Patras. He went to school to study law, which is about rules and justice.

He also worked as a journalist, writing for newspapers. In 1876, he even started his own newspapers, named Pelopas and Toxotis. Later, in 1883, he became a police officer for the city. However, he left this job after only one year.

Political Career

Andreas Papagiannakopoulos was very involved in politics. In 1885, people in Kalavryta voted for him. This made him a Member of the Hellenic Parliament. A Member of Parliament is like a representative who helps make laws for the country.

He was re-elected many times. From 1887 until 1910, he continuously served in Parliament. He represented the Achaea Prefecture, which is a larger area. He also tried to become the mayor of Patras, but he was not successful in that election.

Later Life

Andreas Papagiannakopoulos passed away on January 12, 1911. He died in Athens at the Evangelismos Hospital. A famous speaker named Loukas Roufos gave a speech at his funeral.
