Andrej Rozman (also known as Roza) is a famous Slovene writer, poet, and actor. He was born on May 25, 1955. Roza is well-known for creating fun poems and plays, especially for children. He also writes funny and clever poems for adults. He is also involved in street theatre, which is like performing plays outdoors for everyone to enjoy.

Life and Creative Work

Andrej Rozman was born in Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia, in 1955. He started studying the Slovene language and literature at the University of Ljubljana. However, he decided to follow his passion for theatre instead.

Starting a Theatre Group

In 1978, Roza left his studies to create his own small theatre group. This was the beginning of his exciting career in performing arts.

Street Theatre and TV Shows

In the 1980s, he helped start a street theatre group called Ana Monró Theatre. He was the director of this group for many years, from 1982 to 1995. Street theatre is a special kind of performance that happens in public places, like parks or streets.

Roza also helped write a TV comedy show called Vrtičkarji in 2000. He worked on the first thirteen episodes of the show.

His Own Theatre Company

Since 2003, Andrej Rozman has been running his very own theatre company. It is called Rozinteater. Through this company, he continues to create and perform new and exciting shows.

Levstik Award

Prešeren Foundation Award

In 2010, Roza received the Prešeren Foundation Award. This is a very important award in Slovenia. He won it for all his wonderful work in theatre and literature.
