About Andreu Lacondeguy

Andreu grew up in a place called Montseny, which is close to Barcelona. He started racing bikes when he was just 10 years old. His first type of racing was Four-Cross, where riders race four at a time down a track. He even became a regional champion!

Later, he moved on to BMX and downhill mountain biking. When he was 15, he got a special contract with a team called Maxxis because of his talent. Andreu and his brother, Lluís, who is also a professional mountain biker, often practice their skills in California.

Andreu is not just a mountain biker; he also competes in Freestyle Motocross (FMX). He often uses tricks he learned from FMX in his mountain biking events. He even has "Love Dirt" tattooed on his fingers, showing how much he loves his sport!

Andreu's Amazing Career

Andreu has had many exciting moments in his career. In 2008, he won the Crankworx event in Whistler. That same year, he was one of the first people to successfully land a "double backflip" on a mountain bike during a competition. He was also the first to do a backflip from a big ramp covered in snow!

In 2012, Andreu won the Red Bull Berg Line event in Winterberg. The next year, in 2013, he earned a bronze medal at the Munich X Games for Slopestyle. His biggest win came in 2014 when he won the challenging Red Bull Rampage. He also placed second in Red Bull Rampage in both 2015 and 2018. He came very close to winning in 2010, 2012, and 2013, finishing fourth each time.

In 2015, Andreu teamed up with other famous riders like Kurt Sorge, Graham Aggasiz, Nico Vink, Makken Haugen, and Nick Pescetto. They started something called the "Fest series." These are special week-long events where invited freeride mountain bikers meet up in different places around the world to ride together.

At the Farm Jam Festival in 2013, Andreu won the MTB "Dirt Jam" contest. What's really cool is that he competed in all three events there: FMX, BMX Dirt, and MTB Dirt. He was the first person ever to do that!
