Andrés Ocaña Rabadán (born 26 April 1955 – died 2 March 2017) was a Spanish politician. He is best known for serving as the Mayor of Córdoba, a city in southern Spain. He held this important role from 2009 to 2011.

Early Life and Political Start

Andrés Ocaña was born in 1955 in a town called Aguilar de la Frontera. This town is located in the Province of Córdoba, Spain.

He began his political career in the city of Córdoba. From 1995 to 2011, he was a member of the Córdoba city council. A city council is a group of elected people who make decisions for the city. Ocaña was part of the United Left/The Greens–Assembly for Andalusia (IU) political party.

Becoming Mayor of Córdoba

In 2009, the mayor of Córdoba at the time, Rosa Aguilar, left her position. She was chosen for a new job in the government of Andalusia, which is the region where Córdoba is located.

Andrés Ocaña then took over as the new mayor of Córdoba. He served as mayor for two years, from 2009 until 2011.

End of His Term

In the 2011 local elections, a different political group, the People's Party (PP), won many votes. They gained an absolute majority in the Córdoba city council. This meant they had more than half of all the seats. Because of this, Andrés Ocaña's time as mayor ended.

Later Life and Death

After his time as mayor, Andrés Ocaña continued to be involved in public life. He passed away on 2 March 2017, at the age of 62.
