Andrew Patrick Buckley Jr. is an American actor. He is most famous for playing the character David Wallace on the comedy TV show The Office. Before becoming a full-time actor, he worked as a stockbroker.

Early Life and Education
Andy Buckley was born to Barbara J. and Andrew P. Buckley. He has two brothers and a sister. He went to Pine Crest School and graduated in 1983.
After high school, he attended Stanford University. There, he studied political science and played on the university's golf team. He graduated in 1987. Later, he studied comedy and acting at the Groundlings Theatre. He learned alongside famous comedians like Melissa McCarthy and Dax Shepard.
Interestingly, before his acting career took off, Buckley worked as a financial advisor at a company called Merrill Lynch. He even continued this job for a while after he started appearing on The Office.

First Acting Jobs
In 1997, Buckley appeared in two music videos for country singer Reba McEntire. The songs were "I'd Rather Ride Around with You" and "What if it's You".
Role on The Office
Many people know Buckley as David Wallace, the boss from the TV show The Office. He appeared in 37 episodes from 2006 to 2013. He was chosen for the part because he had real-life experience in business and finance. While he was a recurring character on the show, he kept his full-time job in finance.

Besides The Office, Buckley has been in many other TV shows, like The League, CSI: Miami, NYPD Blue, The West Wing, and Veep.
He has also acted in several movies. In the 2010 comedy The Other Guys, he played a character who has a dramatic fall from a building. In the same year, he was in the movie Life as We Know It.
In 2011, he played Captain Correlli in the kids' movie Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked. He also had a role in the hit comedy Bridesmaids, but most of his scenes were cut from the final film. From 2011 to 2013, he was a main character in the TV series The Lying Game, where he played a plastic surgeon and adoptive father.
In 2015, he played Scott Mitchell, the kids' uncle, in the blockbuster movie Jurassic World. In 2017, he was in the indie film All Light Will End.
In 2020, Buckley worked on a comedy called Distancing Socially. The movie was filmed during the COVID-19 pandemic using iPhones and remote technology.
