In 2005, Dorman played in 30 games. He also came on as a substitute in the MLS Cup 2005 final.
The 2006 season was a big year for Dorman. He played in all 32 games, scoring six goals and making ten assists. He was named the third-best attacking midfielder in MLS that year. Fans of the Revolution, called the Midnight Riders, even named him their "Man of the Year" for 2006. He was a very important player for the team.
In 2007, Dorman played 30 games and scored a career-high seven goals. He scored two goals in one game for the first time on 23 June against Toronto FC. He also helped the Revolution win their first-ever championship, the 2007 U.S. Open Cup, on 3 October.
Time with St Mirren
Dorman then moved to Scotland to play for St Mirren in 2008. He made his debut on 19 January 2008 and helped his team win 3–1. He also scored a winning goal in a Scottish Cup game.
His great performances in the 2008–09 season caught the eye of many other teams. He was even voted the Scottish Premier League Player of the Month twice! Dorman said he was happy at St Mirren, and his manager said he would only let him leave for a lot of money. He finished that season as St Mirren's joint top scorer with 12 goals.
The next season, Dorman faced a hamstring injury that kept him out for six weeks. But he came back strong, scoring two goals in a 4–0 win against Celtic. He finished the season as St Mirren's top league scorer again. After two years, he decided to leave the club.
Joining Crystal Palace
After leaving St Mirren, Dorman moved to England to play for Crystal Palace in 2010. He made his debut on the first day of the season in a 3–2 win. Two months later, he scored his first goal for the team. However, he found it a bit tough at first and didn't play as much as he hoped. His contract with Crystal Palace ended in 2012.
Loan to Bristol Rovers
During his time at Crystal Palace, Dorman went on loan to Bristol Rovers in November 2011. This meant he played for them for a short period. He made his debut in an FA Cup game on 12 November. He scored his first goal for Bristol Rovers on 25 February 2012. He was happy to be playing regularly again.
Back to New England Revolution
Dorman returned to the New England Revolution in November 2012, playing for his former teammate, Jay Heaps, who was now the coach. In 2015, Dorman played 18 games and scored his first regular-season goal for the Revolution since 2007. After the 2015 season, his contract ended, and he joined the coaching staff of the Boston Bolts.
International Career

At first, he wasn't allowed to play for the senior Wales national team because of old rules. But in 2009, FIFA (the world football organization) changed its rules. New rules said players could represent a country if they had lived there for five years before turning 16. This made Dorman eligible to play for Wales!
He was called up to the Wales squad in November 2009 but didn't play in that game. Dorman finally made his debut for the Wales national football team on 23 May 2010 against Croatia.
