Andy David Kindler (born October 16, 1956) is an American comedian and actor. You might know him as the voice of Mort the mortician on the cartoon Bob's Burgers. He also played "Andy," a friend of Ray Barone on the TV show Everybody Loves Raymond.
Kindler has appeared on many talk shows, like the Late Show with David Letterman. He has also worked on animated shows like Dr. Katz and Home Movies.

Early Life and School
Andy Kindler was born in the Queens borough of New York City. He grew up in a Jewish family. He attended Bayside High School and later went to Binghamton University.
Originally, Kindler planned to become a classical musician. However, he discovered a love for acting while performing in plays at college. After he graduated, he moved to Los Angeles and started performing stand-up comedy in 1984.
Career in Comedy and Acting
Kindler is known for his work as both a stand-up comedian and an actor on television.
Stand-up Comedy
Kindler's comedy often jokes about the entertainment industry itself. He is famous for his annual "State of the Industry" speech at the "Just for Laughs" comedy festival in Montreal. In these speeches, he pokes fun at famous comedians and trends in comedy.
In 2010, he was a judge on the reality TV show Last Comic Standing. He has also released two comedy albums: I Wish I Was Bitter (2010) and Hence the Humor (2020). In a fun and unusual performance in 2022, Kindler became the first comedian to perform a live stand-up set as a hologram.
Acting Roles
Besides playing Andy on Everybody Loves Raymond, Kindler has had many other memorable roles. He is the voice of Mort, the friendly funeral home owner, on the popular animated show Bob's Burgers.
He also appeared in several episodes of the Disney Channel show Wizards of Waverly Place as Chancellor Tootietootie. He played a version of himself on the TV series Maron.
Kindler also co-hosts a weekly podcast called Thought Spiral with fellow comedian J. Elvis Weinstein.
Personal Life
Kindler married Susan Maljan in 2002. They have been together since 1992.
