Angelica is famous for her video artworks. She uses filmmaking techniques and performance styles to tell stories. These stories often come from personal experiences or specific places.

She was also a founder of Imperial Slacks, an artist-run group in Sydney. There, she helped create a two-part video publication called Serial 7's.

Representing Australia

Angelica Mesiti represented Australia at the 2019 Venice Biennale. This is a very important art event. She presented a three-channel video work called ASSEMBLY. This video was filmed in the Senate chambers of Italy and Australia. It was shown inside a special amphitheater.

Artsy and Designboom magazines chose 'Assembly' as a top artwork at the Biennale. The Associated Press said her work looks at how people can come together and talk. This is especially important when democracy feels fragile. Angelica says her work explores how communication changes. It moves from talking and writing to using gestures and music.
