Anikó Cirjenics-Kovacsics (born on August 29, 1991) is a famous Hungarian handball player. She recently retired after playing for Ferencvárosi TC. Anikó also played for the Hungarian national team. She is known for her skills as a centre back, which is like the main playmaker in handball.

Anikó's Early Career in Handball
Anikó started playing handball when she was just 10 years old. She loved the sport from a young age. In 2006, when she was 15, she joined a big club called Győri ETO KC. She quickly became a key player on their main team. Many people thought she would become as good as Anita Görbicz, another amazing handball player.
Moving to a New Team
Anikó played for Győri ETO KC for ten years. She helped them win many games. However, she really wanted to play as a centre back, which is her favorite position. Sometimes, she had to play on the left wing instead. So, in 2016, she decided to join a different team, Ferencvárosi TC. This move allowed her to play in the position she loved most.
Playing for Hungary's National Team
Anikó first played for the Hungarian national team on September 22, 2009. This was a big moment in her career. She represented Hungary in many important international competitions.
Major Tournaments and Games
Anikó played for Hungary at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics. She also took part in five World Championships. These were in 2009, 2013, 2015, 2017, and 2019. She also played in five European Championships. These were in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2018, and 2020. In one exciting game during the 2018–19 Women's EHF Champions League season, Anikó scored an amazing 15 goals against SG BBM Bietigheim.
