Aniwave was a fun event that happened every year in Wilmington, North Carolina. It was a special one-day convention where fans of Anime and Manga could get together. It also celebrated Japanese culture! Aniwave usually took place in December at the Wilmington Convention Center. It started in 2007 and the last one was in 2015.
What Happened at Aniwave?
Aniwave was packed with exciting activities for everyone! Here are some of the cool things you could do:
- Costume Contest: Many people dressed up as their favorite anime or manga characters. This is called Cosplay. The contest was a chance to show off amazing costumes and creativity.
- Demonstrations: You could watch artists or performers show off their skills. This might include drawing, martial arts, or other Japanese cultural arts.
- Panels: These were like mini-talks or discussions. Experts or special guests would talk about different topics related to anime, manga, or Japanese culture. You could even ask questions!
- Vendors: There were many booths where you could buy cool stuff! This included manga, anime DVDs, figures, art, and other unique items.
- Workshops: These were hands-on sessions where you could learn something new. Maybe how to draw manga, make a prop, or learn some Japanese phrases.
The Story of Aniwave
