Ann-Elise Hannikainen (born January 14, 1946 – died November 19, 2012) was a talented Finnish composer. She was born in Hanko, Finland. Her parents were Heikki and Marianne Hannikainen. Ann-Elise loved music from a young age.

Early Life and Studies

Ann-Elise studied music in Finland. She went to the famous Sibelius Academy. There, she learned about composing music from Einar Englund. She also studied piano with Tapani Valsta.

In 1972, Ann-Elise moved to Spain. She continued her music studies there. She learned more about composition from Ernesto Halffter Escriche. This was at the Academia Moderne de Musica. She worked closely with Ernesto Halffter for many years.

Later Life and Legacy

After Ernesto Halffter passed away, Ann-Elise moved back to Finland in 1989. She lived in Helsinki. Ann-Elise Hannikainen died in Helsinki in 2012. She is remembered for her beautiful musical works.
