Ann Medina is an American Canadian television journalist and documentary producer. She is known for her long career reporting on important events around the world and for producing TV shows.
Ann Medina's Journey in Journalism
Ann Medina grew up in New York City. She studied philosophy at several universities, including Harvard University. She started her TV career in Chicago. Later, she became a producer for NBC News. She then worked as a reporter and producer for ABC News. At ABC, she made special TV documentaries for a show called Close-Up.
In 1975, Medina moved to Canada. She worked for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). She was part of a show called Newsmagazine. Later, she became the main producer for that show.
Reporting from Around the World
In 1982, Ann Medina joined CBC's The Journal. She became their main foreign correspondent. This meant she reported on stories from many different countries. She focused a lot on the Mideast. But she also reported from places like China, Nicaragua, and Africa. From 1983 to 1984, she was in charge of the CBC news office in Beirut. Her reports and documentaries were also shown on BBC's Newsnight and PBS' MacNeil-Lehrer Report.

Medina was one of the first people to join Norman Jewison's Canadian Film Centre. She still works in journalism today. As of 2016, she hosted shows like History on Film on History Television.
Ann Medina has also worked in technology and communication. She has spoken at the United Nations' World Television Conference. She also advised the Foreign Minister Lloyd Axworthy.
