Anna-Lisa (born Anna Lisa Ruud; 1933–2018) was an actress from Norway. She became famous for her roles in American movies and TV shows. Later in her life, she returned to Norway and became a puppeteer.

Early Life and Beginnings

Anna-Lisa was born as Anna Lisa Ruud in Oslo, Norway. She started her acting career there at the Central Theater. In 1954, she traveled to the United States. She went to visit her brother, who worked in Hollywood, California.

Acting Career in America

In the late 1950s, Anna-Lisa started acting in popular TV shows. Many of these were Westerns, which are shows about cowboys and the old American West. She appeared in Sugarfoot, Maverick, and Bronco. These shows were very popular at the time.

She also guest-starred in other exciting series. These included The Islanders, an adventure show set in the South Pacific. She also appeared in famous Westerns like Bonanza and Gunsmoke.

Becoming a Regular on TV

Anna-Lisa got a regular role in the ABC Western series Black Saddle. She played the character Nora Travers. This role helped her become even more well-known.

Her success led to parts in two movies about space travel. She was in the 1959 comedy Have Rocket, Will Travel with The Three Stooges. A year later, she appeared in 12 to the Moon.

Later TV Roles

Anna-Lisa continued to act in various TV shows. She was in GE True, hosted by Jack Webb. She also appeared in an episode of The Millionaire in 1959.

Other notable roles included an episode of Laramie called ".45 Caliber". In 1963, she was in Perry Mason as Norma Vickers. She also appeared in Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea in 1964. Her last TV roles were in Death Valley Days in 1966 and 1970.

Return to Norway and Puppetry

In the early 1970s, Anna-Lisa moved back to her home country, Norway. She changed her career path and became a puppeteer. From 1976 until 1995, she worked at the Oslo Nye theatre in the Norwegian capital. She retired from the stage in 1995.
