Anna Gasser is an amazing snowboarder from Austria. She was born on August 16, 1991, in Villach. Anna competes in two exciting snowboarding events: slopestyle and big air. She is a two-time Olympic gold medalist, winning the Big Air event in both 2018 and 2022.

Anna first showed her talent at the 2014 Winter Olympics, where she did very well in the qualifying rounds. In 2017, Anna won a gold medal in the Big Air event at the Snowboard World Championships in Spain. She also had a great year at the X Games in 2017, winning gold in Slopestyle and bronze in Big Air in Hafjell, and silver for Big Air in Aspen.

Anna's Snowboarding Journey

Anna Gasser started snowboarding when she was 18 years old. After finishing high school, she moved to the United States. She trained at Mammoth Mountain to improve her skills. To afford her training, Anna worked as a babysitter.

She began competing in snowboarding during the 2010/2011 season, when she was 20. Before snowboarding, Anna was part of Austria's National Gymnastics Team. She left gymnastics at age 15 because the training was very demanding. Anna said she liked snowboarding more because "no one tells you what to do." Her gymnastics background helped her learn snowboard tricks easily.

At the 2013 FIS Snowboarding World Championships, Anna finished 18th. Her first major World Cup success was a third-place finish in Stoneham in January 2014.

Amazing Tricks and Wins

In November 2013, Anna Gasser made history. She became the first female snowboarder to land a Cab Double Cork 900 kicker. This is a very difficult trick that involves two backward flips with a half-turn.

Anna won three X Games medals in the 2017 season. She also won gold in slopestyle at the Burton US Open. She earned another gold at the Snowboarding World Championships with a perfect score of 100.

In 2018, Anna Gasser achieved another first. She was the first woman to successfully land a cab triple underflip. This trick is incredibly challenging and shows her amazing skill.

At the 2023 World Championships in Bakuriani, Georgia, Anna won the gold medal in the big air event.
