Anna Gasser (born 16 August 1991) is an amazing Austrian snowboarder. She is famous for competing in slopestyle and big air events. Anna lives in Millstatt, Austria. She is a two-time Olympic champion in Big Air, winning gold in both 2018 and 2022!

Anna showed her talent early on. She qualified for the 2014 Winter Olympics and had the best score in the first round of the slopestyle event. In 2017, she won a gold medal in the Big Air event at the Snowboard World Championships in Spain. That same year, she also did great at the X Games, winning gold in Slopestyle and bronze in Big Air in Hafjell, plus a silver medal for Big Air in Aspen.

Anna's Snowboarding Journey

Anna Gasser started snowboarding when she was 18 years old. After finishing high school, she moved to the United States. She went there to train at Mammoth Mountain, even though she didn't know much English. Anna worked as a babysitter to save money for her training. She began competing in the 2010/2011 season, when she was 21.

From Gymnastics to Snowboarding

Before snowboarding, Anna was part of Austria's National Gymnastics Team. She quit gymnastics at age 15 because the training was very strict. Anna says she liked snowboarding more because "no one tells you what to do." Her gymnastics training helped her a lot. It made it easier for her to learn cool snowboard tricks in the air.

Making History with Tricks

In November 2013, Anna Gasser made history. She became the first female snowboarder to land a Cab Double Cork 900 kicker. This is a very difficult trick where you do two backward flips with a half-turn!

In 2017, Anna won three X Games medals. She also won gold in slopestyle at the Burton US Open. She even got a perfect score of 100 when she won gold at the Snowboarding World Championships.

In 2018, Anna made history again. She was the first woman to successfully land a cab triple underflip. This is another incredibly tough trick!

At the 2023 World Championships in Bakuriani, Georgia, Anna won another gold medal in the big air event.
