Anne Bouverot (born March 21, 1966) is a French engineer and business leader. She is an expert in artificial intelligence (AI) and has used her skills to help companies and society. She is also a philanthropist, which means she works to help others.

Education and Early Career

Anne Bouverot studied at top schools in Paris. She earned a master's degree in computer science and later a Ph.D. in artificial intelligence. This deep knowledge of technology helped shape her future career. She also has a degree in telecommunications, the technology behind phones and the internet.

In the early 1990s, she worked as a project manager for the phone company Telmex in Mexico.

A Leader in the Mobile World

For more than 19 years, Bouverot worked for the famous telecommunications company Orange. She held many important jobs there. She helped the company grow its business in countries like Kenya, Armenia, and Tunisia.

In 2011, she became the CEO of the GSMA, an organization that brings together mobile phone companies from all over the world. While at the GSMA, she started a program called "Connected Women." This program encouraged more women to build careers in technology.

She also played a key role in organizing the Mobile World Congress. This is a huge yearly event in Barcelona, Spain, where the biggest names in technology come to share new ideas.

Working with Advanced Technology

In 2015, Bouverot became the CEO of a company called Morpho. Morpho created high-tech security solutions for governments and businesses. These solutions included biometrics (like fingerprint or face recognition) and cryptography (the science of secret codes). The company was later renamed IDEMIA.

Using AI for Good

Bouverot wanted to use her knowledge of science and technology to help create a better world. In 2018, she co-founded the Fondation Abeona. This foundation studies how AI affects people's lives and works to make sure AI is used in a responsible and fair way.

The foundation helped create a special program at a top French university to study AI and social justice. It also helped launch a free online course called «DestinationAI». This course teaches people about the good things AI can do and the challenges it might bring. Over 300,000 people have taken the course.

Advising on Artificial Intelligence

Because of her expertise, Bouverot was asked to help the French government understand AI. In March 2024, she and an economist named Philippe Aghion gave a report to French President Emmanuel Macron. The report explained how AI could help France's economy grow.

President Macron then asked her to organize the world's next AI Action Summit, a global meeting to discuss the future of artificial intelligence.
