Anne Haverty (born in 1959) is an Irish writer. She writes novels and poems. Anne studied at two famous universities: Trinity College Dublin and The Sorbonne in Paris. In 1997, her novel One Day as a Tiger won a special award called the Rooney Prize for Irish Literature. This award is given to young Irish writers.

Early Life and Education

Anne Haverty was born in 1959 in a place called Holycross in County Tipperary, Ireland. When she was younger, she won a short story competition at Listowel Writers Week.

She went to Trinity College Dublin and then to The Sorbonne in Paris, France. In 1992, she received a scholarship to study at the European Film College in Denmark. This helped her learn about making movies.
