How CPL Started
In 1989, Anne Heraty and Keith O'Malley started a company called Computer Placement Ltd. At first, they helped people find jobs at new technology companies in Ireland. These companies were just beginning to grow.
In 1992, Anne Heraty bought all the shares from the other owners. This meant she owned 100% of the company. She became the sole owner of CPL.
CPL Goes Public
In 1996, Anne's husband, Paul Carroll, joined the company. In 1999, they decided to make CPL a public company. This means its shares could be bought and sold on the stock market.
CPL Resources Plc. began trading on the Irish Stock Exchange and the London Stock Exchange. Anne Heraty became the first woman to be a CEO of an Irish company listed on the stock exchange.
Anne Heraty stepped down as the CEO of CPL Resources on January 1, 2022.

Entrepreneur of the Year Award
