Anne Kristine Linnet (born July 30, 1953) is a famous Danish singer, musician, and songwriter. She has released many solo albums. She was also a member of several bands, including Tears, ... & Chanel, Anne Linnet Band, ... de ..., and ... Boys.
Anne Linnet is one of Denmark's most popular singers and has been for over 50 years. She is known for her special way of singing and her memorable lyrics. She has explored many different styles of music throughout her career. Linnet has won several Danish awards for her work. She is also a Knight of the Dannebrog, which is a high honor in Denmark.

Musical Career
Anne Linnet started her career in 1969, performing folk rock music. From 1971 to 1976, she was in a band from Århus called Tears. With this band, she recorded the albums Sweet Thing and Tears in My Ears.
The 1970s: ... & Chanel
In 1973, Anne helped start an all-female band called ... & Chanel. The group was together for seven years and released four albums. One of their biggest hits was the song "Smuk og dejlig" ("Gorgeous and Lovely"), which Anne wrote.
The band had to stop using the name Chanel after the famous fashion company Chanel won a court case against them. After this, the band members decided it was time to move on to new projects.
The 1980s: New Bands and Solo Success
After ... & Chanel split up, Anne Linnet formed the Anne Linnet Band. This band included singers Sanne Salomonsen and Lis Sørensen, who both became famous artists. The Anne Linnet Band released two albums between 1981 and 1982.
In 1983, Anne started a new wave band called ... de .... Their music was more electronic and had a harder sound. This was a big change from the softer pop and folk music she was known for. The band's songs explored themes of fairness between people. The band had big hits with songs like "Glor på vinduer," "Nattog," and "Venus."
Famous Songs and Albums
In 1986, Anne Linnet wrote music for a number of poems by the Danish poet Tove Ditlevsen. These songs were released on the album Barndommens gade. The title song was for the movie Early Spring and became a huge hit. It won a Robert Award, which is a Danish film award.
In 1988, Anne released the album Jeg er jo lige her ("I Am Right Here"). It became her best-selling album, with over 400,000 copies sold. The first single, "Tusind stykker" ("A Thousand Pieces"), was a massive hit in Denmark. It was also popular in Sweden when it was recorded by Swedish singer Björn Afzelius.
Later Career: 1990s to Today
In the late 1980s, Anne started her own record company called Pladecompagniet. She later sold it to Sony in 1994. In 1996, she wrote a chamber opera called Thorvaldsen about the famous Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen.
In 1997, she formed another all-female band called ... Boys. In 1999, she started a second record company, Circle Records.
One of her songs, "Smuk og dejlig," was added to the Danish Culture Canon in 2006. This is a list of the most important works of art in Denmark's history. Her children's album Go' sønda' morn' was also included in the canon. In 2007, she released the solo album Akvarium, which was a big success and went to number one on the Danish music charts.
In 2012, Anne Linnet was a judge on the Danish TV show X Factor. She helped guide new singers in the competition.
Personal Life
Anne Linnet studied at the Royal Academy of Music in Århus. From 1974 to 1985, she was married to jazz musician Holger Laumann. They had two children, Eva and Marcus.
Anne is also the mother of Alexander, who is a musician known as Xander. His song "Det burde ikk være sådan her" was a number-one hit in Denmark in 2011.
Anne has other children as well. She has a daughter named Isolde and a son named Nemo. She also has two adopted children, Peter and Maria.
