Movie Career
Writing and Producing Big
Anne Spielberg worked for her brother's movie company, Amblin Entertainment. There, she teamed up with her neighbor, Gary Ross. Together, they wrote the movie Big in 1988.
This movie was a big success! For their work on Big, Anne Spielberg and Gary Ross were nominated for an Academy Award. This award was for Best Original Screenplay, which means they wrote the best new story for a movie that year.
Anne Spielberg also helped produce Big. She worked alongside a famous producer named James L. Brooks.
Other Projects
Anne Spielberg also helped write another movie called Small Soldiers (1998). She was not officially credited for this work. The idea for Small Soldiers came from combining elements of two other movies: Child's Play (1988) and Toy Story (1995).
