Anne Will, born on March 18, 1966, is a well-known German television journalist. She is famous for hosting her own political talk show, which is named after her. Before that, she was the main news anchor for the daily Tagesthemen news show on ARD. She presented the news from April 14, 2001, until June 24, 2007.

Early Life and Education
Anne Will was born on March 18, 1966, in Cologne, which was then in West Germany. Her father was an architect. She grew up in a town called Hürth and went to the Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium high school.
Starting in 1985, she studied history, politics, and English. She attended universities in Cologne and Berlin. She even received a scholarship to help with her studies. While she was a student, she wrote articles for local newspapers. In 1990, she earned her master's degree from the University of Cologne.
Career in Television
Anne Will started her career working in radio and television. She began at a station called Sender Freies Berlin. By the end of 1992, she was already hosting a talk show called Mal ehrlich. She also hosted a sports show called Sportpalast.
From 1996 to 1998, she hosted another show called Parlazzo for Westdeutscher Rundfunk. In November 1999, Anne Will made history. She became the first woman to host the popular sports show Sportschau. During the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia, she presented live sports shows for ARD.
From April 14, 2001, to June 24, 2007, she presented the late-night news show Tagesthemen. She shared this role with other famous anchors like Ulrich Wickert and Tom Buhrow.
Her Talk Show: Anne Will (2007–2023)
Anne Will's own political talk show, Anne Will, started on September 16, 2007. It took over from a similar show hosted by Sabine Christiansen. Anne Will's show ran for many years, ending on December 3, 2023. After she left Tagesthemen, Caren Miosga became the new anchor.
Anne Will was also part of important TV events. In 2013, she helped moderate the main TV debate for the German elections. This debate was between the leader at the time, Angela Merkel, and her opponent, Peer Steinbrück. It was shown live on four major German TV channels.
She interviewed Angela Merkel several times, including before the 2009 election and after big international meetings. In March 2022, she interviewed the new German leader, Olaf Scholz, for the first time. Important international guests also appeared on her show, like foreign ministers from Austria and Luxembourg.
In 2010, Anne Will also interviewed former German leader Gerhard Schröder for a major newspaper.
New Projects
In 2024, Anne Will started a new project. She launched a weekly interview podcast called Politik mit Anne Will. This means "Politics with Anne Will."
Other Activities
Anne Will is involved in many good causes. She actively supports charities like Kindernothilfe and UNICEF, which help children in need. She also works on projects that aim to get rid of landmines around the world.
On July 2, 2005, she hosted the German part of the Live8 concert. This big event took place in front of the Siegessäule in Berlin. She also serves as an "Ambassador for the Room of Names" at the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe in Berlin.
Personal Life
Anne Will lives in Berlin. From 2016 to 2019, she was married to Miriam Meckel. Miriam Meckel was a professor and editor of a German magazine. Anne Will is also a Roman Catholic.
