Miriam Meckel (born July 18, 1967) is a German journalist and professor. She is known for her work in media and communication. She has been a professor at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. She also worked as an editor and publisher for a German business magazine.

In 2020, Miriam Meckel helped start a company called ada Learning GmbH. She co-founded it with Léa Steinacker and Verena Pausder. This company focuses on learning and education. Miriam Meckel became the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ada Learning GmbH.

Leading a Business Magazine

In November 2014, Miriam Meckel became the editor-in-chief of Wirtschaftswoche. This is a very important business weekly magazine in Germany. She was the first woman ever to hold this top position. Later, in April 2017, she became the publisher of the same magazine. This means she was in charge of the business side of the publication.

Working in Government

From 2001 to 2005, Miriam Meckel worked for the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. She was a State Secretary, which is a high-ranking government official.
