Her Early Life and Art Training
Annette Allcock was born in Bromley, England. She went to a private school. Later, she studied art at the West of England College of Art. This was from 1941 to 1943. She also took art classes part-time at other schools.
Working as a Film Animator
After World War II finished, Annette worked as a film animator. This means she created moving pictures for films. She made short cinema advertisements. She also made small films for the Ministry of Information. This government group shared important messages.
Painting Children's Portraits
Annette was inspired by Stanley Spencer. He was a famous artist and a distant relative. She often visited him at his home in Cookham. Because of his influence, Annette became a full-time artist. She focused on painting portraits of children.
Illustrating Books and Exhibiting Art
