Annie Chu is a Chinese-American architect and interior designer. She also teaches about design. She helped start an architecture company called Chu-Gooding in Los Angeles.

Early Life and Education

Annie Chu was born in Hong Kong around 1960. When she was 16 years old, she moved to the United States.

She studied architecture at two famous universities. She earned her first degree from the SCI-Arc. Later, she got a master's degree in Building Science from Columbia University.

What Annie Chu Does

Annie Chu combines art and design in her architecture work. She believes buildings should be both useful and beautiful.

Teaching and Awards

Annie Chu also teaches architecture to students. She has taught at many places in the U.S. and other countries. In 2016, she won a special award. It was from the Los Angeles chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). This award recognized her as a great teacher.

Later, she became a Vice President. This role was for the International Interior Design Association (IIDA). She is also a special member, called a Fellow, of the American Institute of Architects.

Annie Chu works with Rick Gooding and Michael Matteucci. They are partners at Chu + Gooding Architects. This design company is based in Los Angeles.

She is also a professor of interior architecture at Woodbury University. This means she teaches students how to design the inside spaces of buildings.
