High School Career: A Rising Star
Anthony Brown went to Ocean View High School. In his junior year, he was a standout player, averaging 14.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. He was even named the league's Most Valuable Player (MVP).
That year, he helped his team, the Seahawks, win a championship in the CIF Southern Section. They also finished as state runner-up. Because of his amazing performance, he was named CIF Southern Section Player of the Year. He also made the first-team all-state list. His high school honored him by retiring his jersey and adding him to their Hall of Fame. Experts considered him a top player, ranking him highly among small forwards.
College Career: Stanford Success
Brown played basketball at Stanford University from 2010 to 2015. During his time there, he had a "medical redshirt" year in 2012–13 due to a hip injury. This meant he didn't play that season but could still keep his eligibility for future years.
In the 2013–14 season, he bounced back strong. He averaged 12.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. He shot very well from the field and from the three-point line. For his great improvement, he was named the Pac-12's Most Improved Player. That year, his team, the Stanford Cardinal, made it to the "Sweet 16" in the NCAA Tournament.
In his senior year, Brown led Stanford to win the NIT championship. He was a key player, averaging 14.8 points and a team-high 6.9 rebounds per game. Throughout his college career, he averaged 10.8 points and 4.8 rebounds. He earned his bachelor's degree in communication in 2014.

Minnesota Timberwolves and Iowa Wolves (2017–2018)
In August 2017, Brown signed a special "two-way contract" with the Minnesota Timberwolves. This type of contract allows a player to split their time between an NBA team and its G-League affiliate. For Brown, this meant playing for both the Timberwolves and their G-League team, the Iowa Wolves. He was the first player in the Timberwolves' history to sign such a contract. In 2018, he briefly signed with the Philadelphia 76ers for training camp before being waived.
