Anthony Jones started his college basketball career at Georgetown University. He played there from 1981 to 1983. After that, he transferred to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).
UNLV Success and Awards
At UNLV, Anthony played for the Runnin' Rebels from 1984 to 1986. He was a very successful player there. In 1986, he was named the Big West Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year. This award goes to the best player in the conference.
He was also chosen for the First-team All-PCAA (which is now the Big West Conference) in 1986. Before college, in 1981, he was recognized as a top high school player.
