Antonia Sarcina (born in 1963) is a talented Italian musician. She is a pianist and a composer, meaning she writes music. She made history by becoming the first woman to lead the famous Banda dei Carabinieri, which is a special brass band in Italy. Antonia Sarcina was born in Trieste, Italy, on March 23, 1963. When she was just one year old, her family moved to Rome. It was in Rome that her musical journey truly began. From the young age of 10, she started composing her own music. She also performed her creations in piano concerts.

Antonia studied classical music at the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia in Rome. This is a very important music school. There, she learned from famous teachers. Teresa Procaccini taught her how to compose music. Raffaele Tega taught her how to arrange music for brass bands. Bruno Aprea taught her how to conduct an orchestra.

Since 2002, Antonia Sarcina has also been a teacher herself. She has taught orchestration at several music schools. These include the Conservatorio Nino Rota in Monopoli (near Bari), the Naples Conservatory, and her old school, the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia in Rome.

She has created more than 90 musical works. Her compositions range from religious pieces to grand symphonic music. She has also written music for the theatre and made arrangements for bands.

Some of her musical works have won awards in national and international competitions. Important organizations have asked her to compose music for them. These include the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, the Adkins Chiti Foundation, and Certamen Vaticanum.
