Antonio Lindbäck is a famous motorcycle speedway rider from Sweden. He was born on May 5, 1985, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Speedway is an exciting motorcycle sport where riders race special motorcycles around an oval track. Antonio is known for his skill and speed on the track. He has been a very important member of the Sweden national speedway team. He even helped Sweden win the Speedway World Cup twice! This happened in 2004 and again in 2015. He has represented his country 17 times in international races.

Antonio's Speedway Journey

Antonio Lindbäck started his international speedway career in 2004. He first rode as a special guest in the Speedway Grand Prix series. He made a big impact in the Speedway World Cup, riding for the Swedish team. In 2004, he became the European Under-19 Champion. The next year, in 2005, he won the Scandinavian Under-21 Champion title.

Joining the Grand Prix

In October 2004, Antonio won the GP Challenge. This win meant he earned a permanent spot in the 2005 Speedway Grand Prix series. He made his full Grand Prix debut in 2005. He finished 10th in the championship that year. He also placed 10th in the 2006 championship.

A Brief Break and Return

Before the last Grand Prix race in 2007, Antonio announced he was going to stop racing speedway. However, he quickly returned to the sport! He raced for Vargarna in the Swedish second league, called Allsvenskan. He was a key player in helping his club reach the play-off final. In 2009, he moved to race for Piraterna.

Grand Prix Wins

Antonio qualified for the 2012 Speedway Grand Prix through the Grand Prix Challenge. He then won his very first Grand Prix race in 2012 Speedway Grand Prix of Italy in Terenzano. He was also a strong member of the Swedish national team during this time.

Another Return to Racing

On November 13, 2020, Antonio announced he was retiring from speedway again. But once more, he returned to the track! In 2022, he rode for Masarna and Valsarna in the Swedish leagues. He helped Valsarna win the 2022 Allsvenskan championship. In 2023, he was part of the Swedish team that raced in the 2023 Speedway World Cup in Poland.
