Antony Peter Jenkins is a British business executive born on July 11, 1961. He is known for his work in the banking world. Since 2016, he has been the chief executive officer (CEO) of 10x Future Technologies, a company he started. Before that, he was the group CEO of Barclays bank from August 2012 until July 2015.

Early Life and Education
Antony Jenkins was born in Blackburn, England. He grew up in Stoke-on-Trent. He went to Malbank School and Sixth Form College.
After school, he studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) at the University of Oxford. He graduated from University College, Oxford in 1982. Later, in 1988, he earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Cranfield School of Management.
Career in Banking
Jenkins started his career in finance at Barclays in 1983. He then moved to Citigroup, another big bank. At Citigroup, he became a leader in their credit card business.
In 2006, he returned to Barclays. He took charge of their Barclaycard division. By 2009, he was promoted to lead the retail and business banking group. He also joined the bank's main executive team.
Leading Barclays Bank
Antony Jenkins became the group chief executive of Barclays on August 30, 2012. He worked to make the bank stronger and more ethical. In February 2014, he decided not to take his bonus for 2013. This was after some issues the bank had faced.
On July 8, 2015, it was announced that he was leaving Barclays. This happened after disagreements with the bank's board. They had different ideas about the size of the investment bank and how quickly to cut costs.
Starting 10x Future Technologies
In 2016, Jenkins started a new company called 10x Future Technologies. This company is a Fintech business. "Fintech" means it uses technology to improve financial services. The company is based in London.
Community Involvement and Leadership
Antony Jenkins has also been involved in other important roles. From 2008 to 2011, he served on the board of Visa Europe Ltd. He is also part of a group for the Big Innovation Centre. This group works on new ideas for businesses.
He supports several charities as well. He is a Patron for Government Employee Engagement. Jenkins is also a counsellor for One Young World. He has spoken to young leaders about responsible business practices. He gave talks at Summits in Zurich, Pittsburgh, Johannesburg, and Dublin.
In June 2016, he was chosen to lead the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education. This institute helps people get skills for jobs. He became its formal chair in 2017.
Awards and Recognition
In 2021, Antony Jenkins received a special honour. He was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE). This award was given for his services to business. It recognized his work as chair of the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education.

Antony Jenkins met his wife, Amanda Benson, while they were at university. They got married in 1984. They have two children together. He enjoys music very much. He likes listening to rock, jazz, and classical music.
