Antony Peter Jenkins, born on July 11, 1961, is a British business leader. He is known for being the head of a company called 10x Future Technologies, which he started in 2016. Before that, he was the chief executive of a big bank called Barclays from 2012 to 2015.

Early Life and Education
Antony Jenkins was born in Blackburn, UK. He grew up in Stoke-on-Trent. He went to Malbank School and Sixth Form College.
He studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Oxford. He finished his studies there in 1982. Later, in 1988, he earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Cranfield School of Management.
Career in Banking
Jenkins started his career in finance at Barclays in 1983. He later moved to another big bank, Citigroup. At Citigroup, he became a leader in their credit card business.
In 2006, he returned to Barclays. He took charge of their Barclaycard division. By 2009, he was promoted to lead the retail and business banking group. He also joined the bank's main executive team.
Leading Barclays
Antony Jenkins became the group chief executive of Barclays on August 30, 2012. In 2014, he decided not to take his bonus for the year. This was after some issues the bank had faced.
On July 8, 2015, it was announced that he was leaving Barclays. This happened after disagreements with the bank's board. They had different ideas about the size of the investment part of the bank and how quickly to cut costs. The deputy chairman of Barclays said the bank needed new leadership skills.
10x Future Technologies
In 2016, Jenkins started his own company called 10x Future Technologies. This company is a Fintech company. Fintech means it uses technology to improve financial services. It is based in London.
Service and Leadership Roles
Antony Jenkins has also served on the board of Visa Europe Ltd from 2008 to 2011. He is part of a group called the Big Innovation Centre. This group works on new ideas for business and work.
He is also involved with several charities. He helps with a program that encourages government employees to be more involved in their work.
Jenkins is a counsellor for One Young World. This is a global forum for young leaders. He has spoken to young delegates about responsible capitalism. He shared his ideas at summits in different countries.
