Antônio Dias dos Santos (born 7 June 1948), known to many as Toninho, was a famous Brazilian football player. He was a strong defender who played for several big clubs in Brazil. Toninho also had the honor of playing for the Brazilian national team.

Toninho's Club Journey

Toninho started his professional football career in Brazil. He played for different teams, showing his skills as a defender.

Early Career and Fluminense

He began playing in the late 1960s. One of his most important teams was Fluminense. He played for Fluminense from 1971 to 1975. During these years, he played many games in Brazil's top league, the Série A. He was a key part of their defense.

Time at Flamengo

After Fluminense, Toninho moved to another major Brazilian club, Flamengo. He played for Flamengo from 1976 to 1980. At Flamengo, he continued to be a strong defender. He helped the team in many matches in the Série A.

Playing Abroad and Later Years

Later in his career, Toninho also played outside Brazil. He joined Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia from 1980 to 1981. This was a new experience for him. He then returned to Brazil to play for Bangu in 1981-1982 before he retired.

World Cup Experience
