Early Life and Education

Anuradha Acharya was born in Bikaner, India. She spent most of her childhood in Kharagpur. In 1995, she graduated from IIT Kharagpur, which is a famous engineering school in India.

After that, she moved to Chicago in the United States. There, she earned two master's degrees from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She studied Physics and also Management Information Systems (MIS). MIS is about how to use technology to manage information in businesses.

What She Does

Anuradha Acharya is known for her work in genomics. Genomics is the study of all of a person's genes, which are like instructions inside our bodies.

Ocimum Bio Solutions

Anuradha Acharya started a company called Ocimum Bio Solutions in 2000. She was its CEO, which means Chief Executive Officer, or the main boss. This company helped other businesses with genomics research. It focused on finding new things, developing products, and testing for diseases. Ocimum Bio Solutions was based in Hyderabad, India. She led this company until 2013.

In 2007, Ocimum bought the genomics part of a company called Gene Logic. Later, in 2012, Ocimum sold some of its business to another company and moved the rest of its work to India.

Mapmygenome

Anuradha Acharya is also the founder and CEO of Mapmygenome. This company focuses on molecular diagnostics. It offers products that help people understand their own genes and get health tests. This can help them learn about their health risks and make better choices.

Anuradha Acharya has also written a book of poetry. It is called "Atomic Pohe- Random Rhymes at odd times- On Science, Non Science and Nonsense."

She wrote a chapter in a book called Pharmaceutical Outsourcing: Discovery and Preclinical Services. This chapter was about "Research as a Service" (RaaS). She has also written articles for magazines like Nature Biotechnology and newspapers like the Hindu Business Line.

Personal Life

Anuradha Acharya grew up in a campus town because her father was a professor. She is married to Subash Lingareddy. He was also a founder and the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Ocimum Bio Solutions. They have two daughters named Neha and Akhila.
