Anya Krugovoy Silver (born December 22, 1968 – died August 6, 2018) was a talented American poet. She was known for her powerful and moving poems. Anya won important awards, like a Guggenheim fellowship, which is a special grant given to people who are very good at their work. She also won a Georgia Author of the Year Award.

Her Life Story

Anya Silver was born in 1968 in Media, Pennsylvania. She grew up in Swarthmore. Anya loved learning and went to two colleges: Haverford College and Emory University. After finishing her studies, she became a professor at Mercer University. Her poems were published in many places, including a well-known magazine called The Christian Century.

In 2004, Anya was teaching at Mercer University and expecting her son, Noah. Around this time, she was diagnosed with a serious illness. She gave birth to Noah and received treatment. Even though she faced challenges, her experiences made her poetry even stronger and more meaningful. She wrote about her life, her family, and her feelings.

Anya Silver passed away in Macon, Georgia, on August 6, 2018. She was 49 years old.
