Apóstoles is a city in the Misiones Province of Argentina. It is located in the southwest part of the province. About 40,858 people lived there in 2001. It is the main city of the Apóstoles Department.
Apóstoles is about 60 kilometers (37 miles) south of Posadas. Posadas is the capital city of Misiones Province. Apóstoles is also close to the border with Brazil, about 27 kilometers (17 miles) away.

Yerba Mate Capital
Apóstoles is known as the National Capital of yerba mate. Yerba mate is a special plant grown in this region. People use its leaves to make a popular drink called mate.

History of Apóstoles
