Aquivaldo Mosquera's Football Journey
Starting His Career in Colombia
Aquivaldo Mosquera started his professional football journey in 2000. His first team was Atlético Nacional in Colombia. He played more than 150 games for them.
Moving to Mexico and Spain
In 2005, Mosquera moved to Mexico to play for C.F. Pachuca. At Pachuca, he won many important trophies. He helped them win the Mexican league championship twice, in 2006 and 2007. He also won the CONCACAF Champions' Cup in 2007, a big tournament for teams in North and Central America. In 2006, he won the Copa Sudamericana, a major South American club competition.
In the summer of 2007, Mosquera transferred to Sevilla FC in Spain. He stayed with Sevilla until 2009. During this time, he played in 41 league matches.
Returning to Mexico with Club América
In 2009, Mosquera went back to Mexico. This time, he joined Club América. He made his first unofficial appearance for América in a friendly game on July 15, 2009. His official league debut was in a 1–1 draw against San Luis.
Mosquera became the team captain for América. He led them to win their first league title on May 26, 2013. In the final game against Cruz Azul, he scored the first goal. América won the championship after a penalty shootout.
On June 4, 2014, Mosquera transferred back to C.F. Pachuca. This happened during the Mexican football draft.
Playing for His Country: Colombia
Aquivaldo Mosquera was chosen to play for the Colombia national team many times. He played in games for the 2010 World Cup qualifiers. He also played in various friendly games. Mosquera was the captain for the Colombian team during the first part of the World Cup qualifiers.
