Arakoon is a small area located on the eastern side of South West Rocks, a town in New South Wales, Australia. It's part of the Kempsey Shire region. In 2016, about 420 people lived in Arakoon.
Arakoon was actually the very first settlement for the town of South West Rocks. However, the settlement later moved to where South West Rocks is today. This move happened because the new location had better land for building houses and other structures.
Today, Arakoon is home to a few houses, a cozy cafe, and a caravan park where people can stay. It also features the famous Trial Bay Gaol.
