Arash Estilaf (Persian: آرش استیلاف) is a well-known actor and TV presenter from Iran. In China, many people know him by his Chinese name, Hua Bobo (simplified Chinese: 华波波; traditional Chinese: 華波波; pinyin: Huà Bōbō). His real name is Mohammadjavad Estilaf. He was born in Tehran, Iran. When he was 17 years old, he moved to China to start a new chapter in his life.
Arash moved to Shanghai in 2006. He began learning Chinese at East China Normal University. He learned to speak Chinese very quickly, in just three months! In 2008, he joined a big language contest for foreign students called Chinese Bridge. He did very well and finished in the top 10.
In 2010, Arash went to the Shanghai Theatre Academy. He studied broadcasting and presenting there and earned a master's degree. Now, he is studying for a doctorate at East China Normal University. Arash speaks Standard Mandarin fluently. He has become famous on Chinese television because of his great sense of humor. He can also speak Shanghainese, which is a Chinese dialect. Besides Chinese, he knows other languages like Korean and Russian.
