Araya Mengesha (born July 23, 1987) is a Canadian actor. He is well-known for playing himself on the kids' TV show Mystery Hunters. He also stars as Mark Yohannes in Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent. Araya had a role in the action movie Nobody. He also appeared in the TV drama Anne with an E. Araya comes from the royal family of Ethiopia.

About Araya Mengesha
Araya Mengesha was born in Toronto, Canada. His father, Prince Stefanos Mengesha Seyoum, is an Ethiopian-Canadian business consultant. His mother, Selamawit Kiros, is Eritrean-Canadian. Through his father, Araya is part of the Imperial family of Ethiopia. This means his family has a long history connected to the rulers of Ethiopia. Araya is also the cousin of famous theatre director Weyni Mengesha.
Early Career and Mystery Hunters
From 2002 to 2009, Araya was a host on the popular TV show Mystery Hunters. On this show, he worked with David Acer and Christina Broccolini. They explored different mysteries and strange events. This show was very popular with kids and teens.
Directing and Other Roles
Araya also co-directed a short film called Defund with Khadijah Roberts-Abdullah. This film was shown at the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival. It was also named one of Canada's Top Ten films for 2021. He has acted in many other TV shows and movies.
