Arcadia is a small, quiet community located in Indiana County, in the state of Pennsylvania, USA. It's known as an "unincorporated community," which means it's not a separate town or city with its own local government. Instead, it's part of a larger area called Montgomery Township.
Arcadia's Beginnings
Arcadia was first settled around the year 1900. It was created as a "coal town." This means it was a community built specifically for people who worked in the nearby coal mines. Coal was a very important fuel source at that time.
In 1902, a post office was opened in Arcadia. This made it easier for the people living there to send and receive mail.
