Arcilla is a small place in Riverside County, California. It is known as an "unincorporated community." This means it's a settled area that doesn't have its own local government, like a city or town would. Instead, it's managed by the county government.
Arcilla is located near an old railway line called the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad. It is about 3.5 miles (5.6 km) west-northwest of a place called Estelle Mountain. The land in Arcilla is about 958 feet (292 meters) above sea level.
The Name Arcilla
The name "Arcilla" comes from the Spanish word for "clay." This is because clay was, and still is, an important material shipped from this area. Clay is a type of soil that can be used to make many things, like pottery, bricks, and even some types of paper.
